warts

A wart is a benign formation on the skin, resembling a rounded elevation, with a strong growth of the surface epithelium and papillary layer.

In most cases, cell proliferation is caused by HPV, which is provoked by external and internal factors - restlessness, a decrease in immunity for some types - increased sweating of the extremities. You can become infected with HPV through a carrier and contact with objects. This does not apply to senile warts - their formation is not viral in nature.

The sizes of the formations range on average from 1 to 15 mm (old ones reach 6 cm). They have an uneven surface, so they get dirty easily, so over time they can change color from almost flesh to brown. Several units can gather in groups when they are close. All warts can be removed. In some cases, if the patient is comfortable, the doctor may decide to observe without removal.

When to see a doctor urgently:

  • education is located in the genital area;
  • itching, discharge appear in the area of the neoplasm;
  • there is a heterogeneous color, spots;
  • changes shape and color;
  • due to the injured position in everyday life;
  • You are not sure if it is a wart.

types of warts

There are 4 types:

  • ordinary (simple) - formed on the hands (internal group - plantar);
  • flat - occurs mainly in young people, therefore the second name of flat warts is youth;
  • pointed - occurs in the genital area, infection with HPV types that cause it;
  • old age - the causes are unclear, it is not caused by HPV, it occurs in people of middle and advanced age.

Common warts are 1-10 mm in size, dense, keratinized. The average life of such a formation is about 2 years, after which it dissolves by itself. The most common localization site is brushes.

Plantar warts are formations on the feet that first appear as a small callus, then a rough surface with black dots in the middle and a small cylinder along the edge. Horny formations cause discomfort, because the patient feels pain when walking. They can cause loss of mobility and performance. Removal of plantar warts significantly improves quality of life.

Flat warts have clear borders, small in size - up to 5 mm, slightly elevated 1-2 mm above the skin surface. Any shape - round or irregular. Skin irritation, scratches, cuts can provoke the appearance. Favorite places for localization of such formations are the face, hands and shins.

Genital warts are found on the genitals. They are treated by removal and fairly quickly, as they can achieve large sizes. Infection occurs sexually, it is more likely in the presence of sores in the groin. Condylomas are pink nodules that join and form body-attached papillary growths on a stem.

Senile warts (seborrheic keratosis) are the only warts listed that are not related to HPV. We can talk about a genetic predisposition due to the frequent positive family history. Formations can reach quite large sizes - up to 4-6 cm (average size - 0, 2-3 cm). They spawn in a group of up to 20 units. The most common localization sites are the chest, face, neck, forearms, hands.

At first, the elements are flat and small, the surface is uneven. They are covered with easily removable shells. Then the crusts become denser, drier, covered with cracks. Over time, their thickness can be 1-2 cm. As they age, they take the shape of a mushroom cap, initially light yellow or pink, but darkening. They contain impurities. The formations never develop into a cancerous form.

wart removal

Wart treatment is selected by the doctor individually, depending on its type, size, contraindications and other aspects. The clinic offers 4 ways to remove warts, papillomas and condylomas:

  • using a radio wave scalpel;
  • laser removal of CO2;
  • cryodestruction;
  • diathermoagulation.

They are suitable for removing flat and raised warts. Unfortunately, none of the methods presented can remove HPV from the body, leaving the chance of recurrence at 30%. In addition, no method gives a 100% guarantee, an additional procedure may be required. After removal, scars may remain, choosing the right clinic and technique will help prevent this. It is a combination of experienced dermatologists in a professional clinic and high-quality equipment produced according to modern standards, quality service, painless and fast recovery. Infiltration and application anesthesia are available.

laser removal

The laser produces a powerful energy luminous flux, which causes a sharp increase in temperature in the tissues. The advantages of laser removal of papillomas and warts are the absence of bleeding, blisters and large scars. The process takes 5-7 minutes. As a rule, formations are eliminated for the first time.

Removal of warts is carried out according to the following plan:

  • skin treatment with an antiseptic;
  • treatment with anesthetic (injection or lubrication);
  • papilloma treatment over the entire surface;
  • treatment and dressing of the resulting wound.

cryodestruction

The process is done with liquid nitrogen. This procedure is used in the removal of a wide variety of neoplasms and even in the treatment of tumors of internal organs, diseases of the cervix, liver surgery. Under the influence of low temperature, the water inside the cells freezes, the cell explodes and dies.

Uninstall procedure:

  • anesthesia (if large, located in a thin-skinned area);
  • exposure with a cotton swab dipped in liquid nitrogen (5-30 seconds, depending on size);
  • 2 minutes waiting. If necessary, repeat the procedure.

The next day, a blister will appear on the skin, which will gradually pass. The task of the patient is not to damage the balloon beforehand, to wash it gently, not to apply a patch, to protect it from external influences.

diathermoagulation

This method of treatment involves cauterization of tissues using high-frequency current, contact and non-contact method. The procedure is carried out with the help of the EKhVCh (high-frequency electrosurgical apparatus). Its difference from the "Surgitron" radio wave scalpel lies in the use of high-frequency current - about 400 kHz (up to 4 MHz on the radio knife). The method allows bloodless coagulation of the skin and effectively copes with formations.

radio wave scalpel

As a radio wave scalpel, when removing warts, 3. 8-4. Surgitron operating in radio waves at a frequency of 0 MHz is used. The wave vaporizes the cells to which it is directed and does not affect neighboring cells. Usually this method is used on the face, neck, genitals due to its thinness. Its advantages also include high speed, anemia, minimal swelling, rapid recovery.

The process is performed as follows:

  • the skin is treated with an antiseptic;
  • anesthesia is administered (injections, cream);
  • the doctor takes the waveguide of the desired shape and removes the neoplasm;
  • antiseptic treatment.

Make an appointment with a dermatologist

The network of NEARMEDIC clinics offers several effective methods for the removal of flat, pointed, senile, common, including plantar warts. An inexperienced person can confuse warts with other neoplasms that can develop into a malignant form - before resorting to treatment, you need to consult a dermatologist.

Experienced dermatovenereologists, candidates of medical sciences and doctors, whom you can consult even in difficult situations, are treated in our clinic. You will find the names, photos and biographies of all specialists along with their admissions on the website. Here you can make an appointment with a specific doctor.

For this, general therapy is used with antiviral drugs that reduce the activity of the human papillomavirus. The doctor will make a complete diagnosis, develop a treatment plan, advise on any type of removal and recommend the most effective in a particular situation. Consult a specialist at the first sign of the disease.

The cost of a doctor's appointment and removal is indicated in the table. Please note that removing 2 to 5 or more than 5 occurrences is cheaper. To make an appointment, please call or use the form on the website.
